Philadelphia chef Kevin Cooper won a unique business opportunity on the Food Network’s Guy’s Chance of a Lifetime and now he is partnering with Guy Fieri and Robert Earl on a new Chicken Guy stand at the King of Prussia Mall, writes Michael Klein for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

“The deal in the show is that we built the restaurant for him and paid him to go through training and did everything to give him the restaurant. Once he gets it up and it’s running, it’s his restaurant as if he had built it…,” Fieri said.

The King of Prussia Mall franchise opened this week.

Chicken Guy sells chicken sandwiches, bowls, fries, and shakes.

“This is way more than a restaurant opening,” Fieri said. “This is about the life and times of Kevin Cooper. This guy is a veteran, this guy is a family man, a chef, an entrepreneur, and he put himself out on a limb. He has grown tremendously. He’s trained really hard. It’s like a Rocky movie.”

Cooper, 39, has been passionate about food since he was age 9 and making peanut butter cookies for his family.

He is especially passionate about Chicken Guy’s food. He calls it the “Rolls-Royce of chicken.”
