Where to Sled: Valley Forge National Historical Park Tops List of Montco’s Slippery Slopes
Montgomery County has finally received its first significant snowfall in a long time. And there’s no better way to enjoy it than streaking down a white hillside.
Best, it’s a healthy afternoon in the fresh air that can benefit children and adults alike. Luckily, Montgomery County residents have numerous spots with terrific hills, as reported by Nick Vadala for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
In addition to being a historic landmark, Valley Forge National Historical Park features great sledding places for the entire family. Some of the best spots include the hills near the Memorial Arch and the statue of Anthony Wayne.
Other in-county sites good for a slide include:
- Fort Washington State Park’s Militia Hill Day Use Area
- Mill Hill Preservation Area, East Greenville
- Green Lane Park, Green Lane
- Willows Township Park, Villanova
- Bergey’s Mill Park, Schwenksville
Further sites, outside the county, include:
- Nockamixon State Park, Quakertown
- Marsh Creek State Park, Downingtown
- Tyler State Park, Newtown
