As part of the Radnor Township Environmental Lecture Series, head horticulturist at Jenkins Arboretum and Gardens and certified arborist Karen Miller will present how to revitalize local natural habitats by starting a native plant garden in your yard, according to a staff report from the Main Line Times & Suburban.

The lecture will take place on Saturday, February 3, at the Radnor Township Municipal Building.

Landscapes that incorporate native plants provide food as well as shelter for wildlife, minimize the requirement to use chemicals such as fertilizers and insecticides, while also reducing the need for irrigation.

The presentation will highlight methods for recognizing the essential characteristics of a landscape to properly select native plants. Miller will then explain how to use these plants to create a garden and bring a resilient and beautiful space that can be enjoyed by you and shared with wildlife.
