One of the 10 Most Walkable Cities in Pennsylvania is in Montgomery County

Norristown ranked 8 out of the 10 most walkable cities in Pennsylvania with a walk score of 68.

Being able to easily navigate a community on foot is often a big selling point when prospective homebuyers are looking to move to a new town or city, writes Jamie Forbes for Redfin.

In a recent analysis, Redfin used factors like walk scores and housing prices to determine the most walkable cities in Pennsylvania, and one Montgomery County town made the top ten.

Norristown ranked 8 out of the 10 most walkable cities in Pennsylvania with a walk score of 68 and a median sale price of $215,000.

The most walkable areas of Norristown are the Norristown Arts Hill and the Elmwood Park Zoo area.

Nearby Philadelphia and West Chester were ranked second and third respectively. Philadelphia had a walkable score of 75 and a median sale price of $245,000.

West Chester had a walk score of 74 and a median sale price of $595,000. Popular walkable areas include Downtown West Chester and the West Chester University area.

Lancaster came in at number one with a walk score of 81 and a median sale price of $275,000.
