While he had to skip last basketball season due to an injury, Matt Zollers has added some needed scoring this season for the team.

Spring-Ford Area High School junior Matt Zollers has received scholarship offers from eight Division I football programs, but before he decides on where to continue his football career, the versatile athlete is focusing on playing basketball, writes Dan Arkans for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

This past season, the four-star prospect had a school record of 2,917 yards and 37 touchdowns, and he led his team to the District 1 Class 6A quarterfinals.

Now, on the basketball court, he is hoping to help the Rams achieve another special season after they managed to win a league title last season and make their historic run to the District 1-6A championship as well as the state semifinals.

“It’s a nice break from having all eyes on you,” said Zollers. “It’s nice to stay back and play just for fun.”

While he had to skip last basketball season due to an injury, Zollers has added some needed scoring this season for the team.

“He’s not just a football player killing minutes out there,” said Spring-Ford head coach Joe Dempsey. “He contributes a lot.”
