Harleysville Hank making his prediction.

Will Harleysville Hank say we have a long winter ahead of this year? We will soon find out.

The Harleysville Hank Groundhog Day Extravaganza will be held this year on February 2 at the Mennonite Heritage Center.

That is when Harleysville Hank, the local weather prognosticator, will announce if spring will be coming soon or if we will have a longer winter.

The celebration will begin at 6:45 a.m. at the barn. There will be plenty of coffee, hot chocolate, and fresh homemade scrapple to enjoy.

There will also be rousing renditions of Groundhog Carols for the whole family to enjoy.

Before the big day, Harleysville Hank will be traveling around the community. You can follow his adventures on Facebook.

The Mennonite Heritage Center is located at 565 Yoder Road, Harleysville. Programming at the Mennonite Heritage Center shares Anabaptist-Mennonite stories in order to educate and witness to the church and community.
