A Willow Grove native may make it to the Super Bowl this year with the Detroit Lions, according to Fox 29.

Craig Reynolds, a graduate of Abington Senior High School, knew since his high school days that he wanted to play for the NFL.

And now as running back for the Detroit Lions, he is headed to the NFC Championship and possibly the Super Bowl.

“Probably one of the hardest working players that I had in my 16 years of coaching,” said Tim Sorber, former Abington Senior High Football Head Coach.

“He has a chip on his shoulder, and I think that chip on his shoulder really comes out in his play there.”

Reynolds’ journey into the NFL has not been without obstacles. He went undrafted following the 2019 NFL Draft and played for short stints for a bunch of teams before landing with the Detroit Lions.

The Lions versus Tampa Bay Buccaneers playoff game was a special moment for Reynolds as he scored a touchdown to help the Lions defeat the Buccaneers.

Sorber said it was an incredibly proud moment to watch his former player do what he is passionate about.
