Christian Molnar, a Norristown native, knows that keeping hungry football players well-fed can be a big job, writes Kiki Aranita for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

As director of team relationships for the Philadelphia Eagles, he is in charge of coordinating which local chefs come to Lincoln Financial Field to cook for the team.

Molnar has worked with the team for 25 years and his position has evolved to connecting people “wherever there’s a need.”

One of his roles is to bring in food for the team and Eagles executives.

“We have three full-time nutritionists [for the players],” he said. “In season, the players’ food is all planned out and players take it really seriously.”

During training camp, the dietitians worked with former restaurant Mike’s BBQ to come up with post-training snacks.

Christian Molnar became a champion for the Philadelphia food scene during the pandemic when restaurants were struggling to survive.

He discovered Second Daughter Baking Co. and brought some of their tasty treats to the president of the Eagles which led to the organization putting in a big order.

They have also ordered from Café Nhan for the Lunar New Year. Molnar likes to schedule catering orders around holidays or dedicated months like Hispanic Heritage Month to expose the players to the city’s diverse food culture.
