On Saturday, January 20, Capricorn Bookstore will be celebrating its first anniversary from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., writes Ryan Genova for Glenside Local.
Jackie Botto, the owner, said that the celebration will include refreshments, make-and-take crafts for the kids, 20% off logo merchandise, and raffle prizes.
Visitors to the store can also enjoy the DJ stylings of DJ Vinyl Chickie who will be spinning records between Noon and 3 p.m.
“We had a great year. I’m so grateful to the community. It seems like we really filled a need and a desire for an independent bookstore and people have been showing up for it,” she said.
Capricorn Bookstore offers both books and local art. They provide the community with pop-ups, story times and author events.
And they have partnered with other community businesses like the Jenkintown Library and the Hiway Theater.
