Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center’s end-of-the-year giving campaign got a boost from Ambler Savings Bank. The campaign raised $31,000 to help children who have been victims of abuse in Montgomery County.

“The grant allowed us to get creative with our end-of-the-year campaign, and encouraged the community to give knowing that their donations would be matched,” says Paula Jones, Director of Development, Mission Kids.

The boost was made possible by Ambler Savings Bank’s Matching Grant Program. Donations were matched dollar-for-dollar up to $5,000.

Funds will support Mission Kids’ work to bring support and justice for victims of child abuse through a variety of services, advocacy, leadership, and education.

In 2023, Mission Kids conducted 609 forensic interviews and helped 1,326 children in Montgomery County who needed support and healing from suspected abuse. Additionally, they provide family advocacy, therapy, court accompaniment, and community prevention education, to name a few.

“Knowing their donations were going to be matched helped spur a lot more people to participate than in past years. We’re grateful for the grant from Ambler Savings Bank to make this happen,” says Ms. Jones.

Ambler Savings Bank has committed to donating 5-8% of after-tax profits to local non-profit organizations, specifically in the areas of education, affordable housing, hunger, and community development.

“We are proud to support Mission Kids. Their services support kids through the most challenging situations of their young lives,” says Roger Zacharia, President and CEO, Ambler Savings Bank.

Mission Kids coordinates the investigation of child abuse cases in Montgomery County using a Multi-Disciplinary Team approach. The team includes the District Attorney’s Office, all 50 local Police Departments, the Office of Children and Youth, specially trained child abuse pediatricians from Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, child advocates, and trauma-focused mental health professionals.
