Actress Amanda Seyfried is Filming A New TV Series Set in Kensington
Amanda Seyfried recently participated in a ride-along with Philadelphia police officers as part of a new TV series set in Kensington, writes Hayden Mitman for NBC 10 Philadelphia.
While at the 26th Police District in Kensington, Seyfried shot scenes for Long Bright River, in which she portrays a Philadelphia officer named Mickey on the beat in Kensington in the series.
It tells the story of two sisters, Kacey and Mickey — the former is struggling with addiction on the streets of Kensington, while the latter is a police officer who patrols that same community.
The new TV series is based on the book of the same name, written by Philadelphia-based author, Liz Moore, who’s also a faculty member at Temple University.
The book, which was published in 2020, is a New York Times best-seller and was selected as one of former President Barack Obama’s favorite books of that year.
Seyfried is known for various other roles, such as teen comedy Mean Girls, and the 2012 adaptation of Les Misérables, along with several others.
