Every year, a sizable number of visitors venture to Lancaster County for countless holiday celebrations and activities.  

Theaters all over the county are offering several Christmas shows, including a performance of “First Noel” at the American Music Theatre. The original and heartwarming show, which features singers, dancers, and elaborate sets & costumes, runs through Dec. 30. The performance includes a mix of sacred and secular holiday music favorites.  

Magic & Wonder Dinner Theater’s “Winter Wonderland” blends magical illusions with circus arts, comedy, and music. Co-founder and co-owner Brett Myers and his cast will perform their amazing show through Dec. 31.  

Lancaster County has a selection of small-town shopping options, as well as Park City Center Mall. For loads of great brands and prices, Tanger Outlets Lancaster is the place to go. From Polo to Coach and H&M to Nike, the complex offers over 65 stores. 

For family attractions, a selection of festive seasonal train rides can provide a unique winter wonderland experience.  

The Strasburg Christmas Trains each offer a distinct and memorable journey such as The Santa Claus Limited, Santa’s Paradise Express, and The Night Before Christmas Train.  

On the Christmas Tree Train, passengers have the opportunity to pick a pre-cut Christmas tree and bring it back on the train as part of their festive journey.  

For those seeking outdoor adventure, Refreshing Mountain offers an exhilarating experience with zip lines and aerial courses, set against a backdrop of spectacular holiday lights.  

Available until January 7, this experience allows visitors to soar through a twinkling winter canopy. Alternatively, guests can choose a more leisurely stroll through the lights, culminating in breathtaking views from an observation deck. 

The historical charm of Lancaster County is showcased during the Ephrata Cloister’s Lantern Tours, scheduled from December 27-30.  

Here, guides and interpreters lead visitors on a journey through time, shedding light on the unique religious community’s rich past. 

Home to Revolutionary War general Edward Hand, Historic Rock Ford also invites guests to step back in time with its Yuletide Tours from December 27-29. 

 Visitors can explore the festively adorned mansion, complete with period music and traditional dancing.
