Bristol Borough activist Morris Derry is bringing holiday cheer to people struggling with drug addiction, writes Damon C. Williams for the Bucks County Courier Times.

Derry visits homeless encampments deep in the woods of Bucks County, and throughout the streets of Philadelphia’s Kensington neighborhood to distribute donations.

The Bristol activist has also struggled with drug addiction, and he aims to support people whose position he was once in through his nonprofit No More Pain Inc.

On December 16, Derry will button up his electric blue Santa suit and ride though Bristol borough under his pseudonym “Homie Claus,” to collect toiletries, blankets, hats, and more.

The donation drive spans 22 blocks and goes from 5:30 to 8 in the evening. Derry says he likes to blast ‘Christmas in Hollis’ by Run DMC while collecting donations.

“We’re acting a fool and having fun, but it’s all about the homeless and those battling addictions,” says Derry.
