Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia CEO Committed to Bringing Support to Israel
Michael Balaban, chief executive officer of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia and volunteer board member of the Lower Merion Fire Department’s Penn Wynne-Overbrook Hills Fire Company, has been meeting with politicians, families of attack victims, and wounded soldiers to see how he can support Israel during the conflict with Hamas, reports Times of India.
Shortly after the attacks of October 7, he traveled to Israel, and he is planning on going back over soon.
He is involved with the Emergency Volunteer Project, a disaster relief organization that deploys volunteer medical professionals and firefighters to Israel during the crisis.
Balaban is also bringing 15 clergy members to Israel to provide counseling and support to victims of violence and their families.
Balaban added that it is of utmost importance to raise awareness about the underlying causes of the conflict.
