This week Equus Capital Partners welcomed the first residents to the new Madison West Elm, a 12-story apartment building in Conshohocken, writes Paul Schwedelson for Philadelphia Business Journal.

Steve Spaeder, Equus’ senior vice president of acquisitions and development said that the multifamily market has been strengthening so they wanted to offer something special.

He calls the Madison West Elm “urban-lite” because it offers a more urban feel for suburban residents.

The 12-story, steel-framed structure sits along the Schuylkill River next to SEPTA’s Conshohocken station and the Schuylkill River Trail.

It is also only a half-mile from Fayette Street and has amenities more commonly found in Center City Philadelphia like a 24/7 concierge desk.

The Madison West Elm also features a community room and a speakeasy and there are plans for a rooftop deck with an outdoor television. Residents also have access to an outdoor pool, fire pits, and grills as well as a fitness center.

Most of the units are either studio or one-bedroom. The development has 500 parking spaces, many of them in an adjacent garage.
