Stacker used Niche data to compile a list of the best counties to raise a family in the Keystone State. The counties were ranked based on a variety of factors such as cost of living, health care, schools, recreation, and weather.

Montgomery County took the crown as best county to raise a family in the state.

The county with a population of 850,890 has a median home value of $338,800 and a median rent of $1,393. Around 72 percent of the population own their homes while 28 percent rent.

The median household income in the county is $99,361.

Montgomery County boasts some of the best public and private schools in the region and the state, such as Lower Merion High School, Harriton High School, The Baldwin School, and The Hill School.

The top places to live within the county are Ardmore, Penn Wynne, and Narberth.

Other counties that earned high marks were Chester County which ranked second as well as Delaware and Bucks Counties which ranked third and fifth, respectively.
