Smoothie King, which is based in Dallas, is continuing to expand its footprint in Greater Philadelphia, writes Emma Dooling for Philadelphia Business Journal.

The fast-casual chain is planning on open stores in Northeast Philadelphia, the western suburbs and Newark, Delaware.

The goal is to open 40 to 50 locations in the region over the next five years, according to Shawn Caric, Smoothie King’s vice president of franchise development.

To make this happen, the company is looking for new franchisees.

“Even if we did 10 openings a year, that would take us eight years to get there, so we’re looking for multiple partners to help us achieve that goal,” Caric said.
