Four Lansdale Students Honored for School Bus Safety Posters
Four Lansdale students were among the winners of this year’s School Bus Safety Poster Contest, writes Jacob Deemer for Explore Venango.
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Driver and Vehicle Services Director of the Bureau of Driver Licensing Dios Arroya, Pennsylvania State Police, and Pennsylvania school bus advocates recognized the nine winners of the contest in a ceremony on October 25.
The theme this year was “Safely Rolling To My Destination.”
“Students’ return to school has meant the return of school buses to our highways, and the Shapiro Administration is focused on everyone getting home safely,” said PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll.
“School Bus Safety Week gives us all an opportunity to pause and realize just how much our own actions behind the wheel can affect our most precious asset – our children.”
The Lansdale winners include:
- Sophia Stroman of Gwynedd Square Elementary School who won 2nd place in the Kindergarten to Grade 2 category.
- Lorelei Troutman of Gwynedd Square Elementary School who won 3rd place in the Kindergarten to Grade 2 category.
- Emina Bernice George Michle of Gwynedd Square Elementary School in the Grade 3 to Grade 5 category.
- Musfika Turi of Oak Park Elementary School won 3rd place in the Grade 6 to Grade 8 category.
