All Manor College Dental Assistant Students Passed RHS Exam on First Attempt Last Year

Students at Manor are required to take the RHS exam before entering their second year in the EFDA program.

Manor College’s Expanded Functions Dental Assisting Program recorded a 100 percent pass rate on the 2022 Radiation Health and Safety Exam offered by the Dental Assisting National Board.

The program has achieved the perfect score for the fifth consecutive year. According to the Dental Assisting National Board, the national average stands at 61 percent.

In 2022, all EFDA students at Manor College in Jenkintown who opted to take the test passed on their first attempt.

The exam aims to ensure individuals meet the national standard for competence in radiation health and safety – which is critical to the health and safety of both patients and oral healthcare workers.

Students who pass the exam are certified to take x-rays in a dental office. Students at Manor are required to take the RHS exam before entering their second year in the EFDA program.

“Getting this certification allows students to be assistants in a dental office,” said Jaime Simpson, Dean of Allied Health Science at Manor College. “It gives them the opportunity to work part-time while finishing their EFDA degree.”

She credited EFDA Clinic Coordinator Kathy Malone for the great success of the program in the RHS exam.
