A new exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art will now have a culinary component added to it, thanks in part to an Arcadia University professor, writes Timothy Walton for 6ABC.

Shape of Time: Korean Art after 1989 highlights Korean artists after the travel bans were lifted by the Asian country in 1989.

“As a person who was born and raised and lived through that time, it was really an amazing transformation of the country,” said Hyunsoo Woo, co-curator of the exhibition.

Stir, the fine dining destination at the museum, is now creating a menu featuring Korean dishes in collaboration with the exhibit.

Executive Chef Hoon Rhee has been exploring his Korean American roots as he expands the menu at Stir.

Hoon has also joined forces with Arcadia University Fine Arts Professor Greg Moore to identify which Korean dishes to highlight.

Arcadia students worked with Chef Hoon and the curators of the exhibition to learn about both Korean pottery and its history. Based on these lessons, they helped create 80 dishes that will be used at Stir.
