Five Montgomery County Towns Are Among the Wealthiest in the State
Using data from the U.S. Census’ five-year American Community Survey, Chris Ullery for Bucks County Courier Times has calculated which towns are the wealthiest in Pennsylvania and five Montgomery County towns were among the top 50.
Thirty-seven of the commonwealth’s 50 richest towns are in Southeastern Pennsylvania. In Chester County, the median income is almost triple the statewide median income of about $68,000 in 2021.
Here are how towns in Montgomery County ranked:
No. 25 Lower Salford Township
The median household income in Lower Salford Township is $148,995. Thirty-two percent of households there make more than $200,000.
No. 26 Lower Merion Township
The median household income in Lower Merion Township is $148,721. Thirty-nine percent of households there make more than $200,000.
No. 33 Upper Dublin Township
The median household income in Upper Dublin Township is $145,905. Thirty-four percent of households there make more than $200,000.
No. 41 Worcester Township
The median household income in Worcester Township is $140,063. Thirty-three percent of households there make more than $200,000.
No. 44 Whitpain Township
The median household income in Whitpain Township is $138,698. Thirty-four percent of households there make more than $200,000.
