RoxYunk Porchfest will return to Roxborough and Manayunk on October 14, with nearly 100 bands and musicians coming to perform on the stoops in the two neighborhoods, writes Maggie Mancini for the PhillyVoice.

The second iteration of the free music festival will take place from noon to 6 p.m. Bands and solo acts will perform their music in front of the houses of homeowners who agreed to donate their porches and yards for the event.

Most shows will be performed on streets between Ridge and Henry avenues in Roxborough as well as between Levering and Cotton streets in Manayunk, said Mose Richards, the sound engineer and organizer of the event.

All genres of music will be represented, from punk and metal to hip-hop and folk. Some bands have prepared 30-minute sets while others are planning to do longer, more elaborate performances.

After the daytime performances, the event will continue at Fat Lady Brewing from 7 p.m. to midnight.

RoxYunk Porchfest is partly influenced by West Philly Porchfest, which has taken place every year (outside of 2020) since 2016.
