Nine North Penn Students have been named National Merit Scholar Semifinalists, writes Justin Heinze for the Patch.

Of the 1.5 million eligible high school juniors nationwide, less than one percent make it to the semifinal stage.

“These academically talented high school seniors will now have an opportunity to continue in the competition for more than 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $30 million, the North Penn School District said.

“Students named as finalists will be selected in April, May, June, and July based on their ability to show exceptional academic talent and potential for success in rigorous college studies.”
