Nine Montgomery County towns are among the 50 most expensive places to rent in Pennsylvania, writes Chris Ullery for the Philly Suburbs.
While the state’s median gross rent was $1,013 a month in 2021, according to Census data, the renters in the top 50 most expensive towns were paying at least $700 more than that on average.
The highest-ranked Montgomery County town is Worcester Township at No. 13. Worcester has a median gross rent of $2,211 and 935 people living in rentals.
Upper Pottsgrove Township also made the top twenty at No. 17 with a median gross rent of $2,110 and 774 renters.
Upper Frederick Township is next at No. 26 ($1,969), followed by Lower Gwynedd Township in No. 29 ($1,943), and Whitemarsh Township at No. 31 ($1,910).
Not far behind is Franconia Township at No. 35 ($1,874). Whitpain Township ($1,856) and Conshohocken Borough ($1,818) also made the list at No. 38 and No. 41, respectively.
The list is rounded out by Montgomery Township at No. 47 ($1,771).
