Bryn Mawr is known for its unique mix of the most up-to-date trends and a rich history, writes Carole Felton Shore for Main Line Tonight.

“The town is always incorporating new ideas, sensibilities and trends,” said Hank Wilson, president of the Bryn Mawr Civic Association and Bryn Mawr Beautiful, which is charge of the maintenance of the town’s seasonal plants and flowers.

“This influx of new ideas and progress enhances the heart of the town – families who have lived here for generations. When people come here, they see it’s special.”

Here is a sampling of the best dining, shopping and arts events in town:

Dining

The Pullman located in the Bryn Mawr train station is one of the newest restaurants in Bryn Mawr. Another top pick is Fiore Rosso, located in the former Tredici Enoteca.

Shopping

If you love hunting down a good deal, then both The Bryn Mawr Hospital Thrift Shop and Rachelle are great shops with gently-used clothes and other items. You can even find name-brand clothing for much less sticker shock.

The Arts

When you need a break from all the good food and shopping, there are also plenty of places in town to enjoy music and musical theater.

During the summer, you can enjoy Bryn Mawr Twilight Concerts at the Bryn Mawr Gazebo near the Ludington Library. And all year long the Wolf Performing Arts Center offers musical performances that showcase the talent of the community’s youth performers.
