At many breweries in the Philadelphia area, there has been a revival of lager-style beer, writes Mike Landers for Philadelphia.
For a long time, the lager remained an underdog when compared to the IPA in the craft beer scene. This is because lagers require a lot more time and precision to make.
Things are quickly changing though, and the idea of craft lager is catching on in our region and across the country. Many breweries are now offering a variety of lagers, both in cans and on draft.
Here are some of Landers’ favorite lagers in Montgomery County:
- Human Robot, Jenkintown: Polotmavy, a Czech half-dark lager
- Forest & Main, Ambler: House Lager
- Troubles End Brewing, Collegeville: Kith N Kin, a golden spelt lager
- Von C Brewing Co., Norristown: OG Pils Legendary Philly Lager.
