An album by one of the most beloved rock groups from Bucks County turns 20 today, and it is remembered fondly by fans around the world.

“Quebec”, the eighth studio album by New Hope rockers Ween, was released on Aug. 5, 2003 by Sanctuary Records. Now two decades old, the album has been celebrated by critics and fans alike since its release.

Music critic Mark Prindle named it the best album of the 2000s, while CMJ named it the eighth-best album of 2003. Several songs off of the record have gone on to be fan favorites, and many still remain in the band’s live repertoire.

According to Ween.net, the video for the song “Transdermal Celebration” was animated by Disney animator Adam Phillips. The cover art was inspired by the “Thorns” board game.

Recently, the band kicked off a nationwide tour. Fronted by singer Gene Ween (Aaron Freeman) and guitarist Dean Ween (Mickey Melchiondo), the childhood friends grew up in the popular riverside town.
