The Federal Railroad Administration has delayed a decision regarding an application from the Schuylkill River Passenger Rail Authority for funding to restore passenger rail service to the Reading to Philadelphia corridor.

The decision has been delayed for at least two months, writes Holly Herman for Patch.

A total of 90 applications across the Northeastern U.S. for funding were submitted to the Federal Railroad Administration Program.

While the authority awaits a decision, it already has a $750,000 federal grant that can be used for the development of the project.
