While other parts of the country are seeing a rise in West Nile Virus cases this year, our county has actually seen fewer cases.

So far this year, there have been 42 confirmed samples of mosquitoes with the virus in the county.

For comparison, in 2022, there were 168 cases at this point in 2022, the Pennsylvania Department of Health says.

There have been no human cases of the virus reported in the county yet this year. In 2022, there were three human cases at this point in the season.
