PennDOT’s major Interstate 476 improvement project with a price tag of $63.7 million is slated to start next week, according to MediaNews Group.

The project will focus on resurfacing, repairing, and improving the nearly 17 miles of Interstate 476 and its ramps and bridges between Interstate 76 (Schuylkill Expressway) in West Conshohocken and I-95 in Ridley Township in Delaware County.

The project isn’t expected to be completed until late 2025 and will include milling and overlay of travel lanes and shoulders in both directions, repairs on 49 structures, and improvements on 21 stormwater management basins.

Most of the construction will happen at night during off-peak travel times. From August 20 to August 25, preliminary construction activities will begin.
