The store is expected to close in the fall.

The owners of Gamburg’s Furniture in Hatboro recently sent a letter to its preferred customers that they have decided to retire and close the store, according to Dino Ciliberti at Patch.

Residents on The Voices of Hatboro Facebook page shared the letter giving them advanced notice of the closing.

It read: “Dear Valued Customer and Neighbor, for 94 years and three generations, Gamburg’s Furniture has been proud to serve the good people of Eastern Pennsylvania and beyond with premier home furnishing needs. So it is with reserved excitement that I have made the decision to retire and close Gamburg’s Furniture.”

The store’s office manager, Lynne Hordych, told Patch that the store will most likely close in the fall.

Local residents commented on the Voices of Hatboro page about the closing of the Hatboro institution.

“We’ve lived in our home for 40 years, and every piece of furniture in our house including pictures has been purchased at Gamburg’s,” one person posted. “Will definitely miss them.”
