According to data from Intelligent.com, 40 percent of business leaders believe that Gen Z graduates are not adequately prepared for the workforce, writes Rachel Wells for Forbes.

In fact, 39 percent of these leaders have terminated the contract of a Gen Z employee, and a significant 83 percent of this group have done so more than once. The main reasons for this dissatisfaction are a perceived lack of communication skills and work ethic.

The prolonged impact of the pandemic on global activities has played a role in this issue. For almost two years, both the educational and corporate sectors have been largely inactive, depriving Gen Z of crucial in-person experiences and opportunities to develop skills.

It is crucial for Gen Z professionals to actively enhance their soft skills. However, the responsibility for addressing this issue does not solely lie with Gen Z individuals. It requires a collective effort from all stakeholders, including parents, educational institutions, employers, and policymakers.

Experts advise that Gen Z should focus on enhancing their self-awareness, having a growth mindset, communication skills, and work ethics.

Although Gen Z faces challenges as they enter the workforce, with determination, access to resources, and the right approach, they can not only overcome these challenges but also excel in their careers.
