Two longtime homebrewers have a great future ahead of them, as they are set to open a new brewery this Fall in Northern Liberties, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Founders Sean McGuire and Nick Mata are targeting a November launch of Future Days Beer with plans to start brewing a month ahead. The two-story, 3,600-square-foot space will have a bar on each floor along with an outdoor patio. The brewery is expected to accommodate up to 100 people.

McGuire and Mata met at Fordham University and became fast friends due to their shared love of beer. They started occasionally brewing in their apartment but moved on due to their jobs. They started homebrewing regularly again in 2017.

They named their new brewery after a kölsch they created in 2020. The brew was so well-received by customers that it served as a push they needed to start looking for a place to start brewing full-time. They decided on Philadelphia because of its lively local craft brewing industry.

“The brewery scene just seemed like there were a lot of passionate customers and stuff like that, so it was the perfect place to kind of end up,” said McGuire.
