Another sinkhole appears on Route 202 not far from the King of Prussia Mall, forcing a closure of a section of the road for the second time in six months.

Latest Update: The stretch of Route 202 near the King of Prussia Mall, between Henderson Road and Saulen Boulevard in Upper Merion Township, was reopened Wednesday around 8:20 p.m., according to PennDOT.

Crews put in a temporary fix to repair a large sinkhole that developed Monday after a water outage in the area.

A large sinkhole opened up on Route 202 in King of Prussia Monday night, closing a section of the busy roadway, Tim Jimenez for KYW Newsradio, had previously reported.

Repairs are expected to be completed today, according to the last update this morning.

Until then, Route 202 (Dekalb Pike) remains closed in both directions between Henderson Road and Saulin Boulevard. Upper Merion police are asking people to avoid the area if possible.

The sinkhole appeared in the middle of Route 202 about 1.5 miles from the King of Prussia Mall after a water outage in the area. The broken water main has since been fixed, and now PennDOT crews are working to repave the road.
