The Lancaster Science Factory makes learning fun for the whole family. This hands-on, interactive center hosts educational programs, workshops, and field trips for curious minds in grades Pre-K-8. Visitors can access over 75 interactive exhibits covering the areas of fluid dynamics, mechanics and motion, mathematics, acoustics, engineering, light and vision, and electricity and magnetism.

A stunning new exhibit has made its debut this summer. Kids and adults alike can reach new heights with the 25-foot-high sky bridge. This iridescent wonder is suspended from the ceiling and is comprised of 35 unique panels to highlight the engineering principles of bridges.

“It’s really a striking, iconic exhibit for us,” says Amanda Bakay, The Director of Programs & Communications.

The Mueller Family Outdoor Courtyard, which opened in 2022, will be celebrating its first full year. Visitors can check out new exhibits, gardens and art that involve environmental sustainability in the courtyard.

All guests ages 3 and up can get in for $12, and admission is good for the whole day. Younger visitors under three years old get in for three. A typical trip to the Science Factory is around two to three hours, but sometimes inspiration strikes, and visits can last even longer.

“Kids get really into the things they’re doing,” says Bakay.

The Factory has upcoming classes, workshops and birthday parties. There’s plenty of special events in September, including Star Wars Character Takeover.

The 17,000 square feet of indoor exhibits are constantly rotating, giving visitors a fresh experience.
