Hatboro-Horsham Track Star Gatorade Pa. Boys Track & Field Player of the Year

Gatorade recently announced that Hatboro-Horsham senior Brian DiCola is the 2022-23 Gatorade Pennsylvania Boys Track & Field Player of the Year, writes Ed Morlock for PA Prep Live.

DiCola has had a great track season this spring winning at the league, district, and state level.

He is the first Gatorade Pennsylvania Boys Track & Field Player of the year to be chosen from Hatboro-Horsham High School.

Already committed to Penn State University, DiCola had a record-breaking performance at the PIAA-3A state championships. He set a PIAA record when he wont the 3200-meter in 8.47.39 on May 27 at Shippensburg University.

He also won two gold medals in the District 1-3A championships at Coatesville Area Senior High School for the 3200- and 1600-meter races.

At the Suburban One League Liberty Division Championships at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School, he earned first team All-League honors for the same two distances.

The Gatorade award not only recognizes athletic excellence, but also academic achievement and exemplary character on and off the field. DiCola maintained a weighted 4.75 GPA and was actively involved in different community service initiatives at his school.
