Friends’ Central Athlete Named Gatorade Pennsylvania Girls’ Track and Field Player of the Year

Avery Lewis, a rising star in track and field at Friends’ Central School in Wynnewood, has been named Gatorade Pennsylvania Girls’ Track and Field Player of the Year, writes Isabella DiAmore for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The junior recently set a girls’ state outdoor record in the long jump of 20 feet, 9½ inches at the New Balance Nationals. She also won PAISAA titles in the 100 meters, 200 meters, and long jump this season.

In addition, Lewis won the indoor New Balance Nationals title in the long jump and set the indoor state record with her winning leap of 21 feet, 2½ inches.

She will be entering her senior year as a five-time All-American in both the 60-meter dash and long jump.
