Widow’s Peak Distilling, nestled in the heart of Ambler and founded by brothers Michael and Mark Ilg, is the perfect spot to grab a drink before or after dinner, writes Natalie Jason for 6ABC.
The distillery was founded by brothers Michael and Mark Ilg.
“My brother has a Ph.D. from Drexel University,” said Michael Ilg. “I had the idea, I brought it to him. I said, ‘Could you make the spirits?’ He goes, ‘It’s easy.’”
Mark is the one who oversees the distilling, while Michael runs the business side of things.
“You wanna maximize how many people you can have in here, but at the same time you got to keep it small and elegant,” said Ilg. “So that’s what we’re going for.”
The brothers said that almost everybody who helped them get the place up and running were family members.
Widow’s Peak Distilling offers craft cocktails at its tasting room that are specifically designed to showcase its spirits, including vodka, gin, and whiskey. The brothers also offer charcuterie boards that range from savory to sweet.
