Trailblazing real estate attorney Faith Hammes has once again taken the reins of Trusted Land Transfer, a Fort Washington-based provider of title and real estate settlement services that she founded in 2018 and sold four years later.

Hammes grew TLT by providing title insurance for commercial and residential real estate transactions of all sizes, then sold the business to Incenter, a subsidiary of Finance of America, in early 2022. By the end of 2022, Incenter had exited the title business due to shifts in the real estate market. By May 2023, Hammes had bought TLT back from Incenter.

“I’m an entrepreneur, and I saw the long-term opportunity to grow and consolidate title companies,” said Hammes. “I’m passionate about real estate, and I believe now is the time to reinvest in TLT.”

Hammes, who earned her bachelor’s degree from Saint Joseph’s University and law degree from Villanova University, also operates a solo law practice focused on real estate and litigation. With that perspective, she sees opportunity for TLT to grow and thus recently asked entrepreneurial banker Bob Marino to join the company as chairman.

Marino, a former president of Valley Green Bank, is the co-founder of Philadelphia-based Spring Garden Lending, where he currently sits on the board. Most recently, he was the president and vice chairman of Huntingdon Valley Bank and has since joined First Citizens Community Bank through its merger with Huntington Valley Bank. Marino currently serves on FCCB’s board and is Chief Revenue Officer.

“Bob’s strategic vision and experience in growing financial service businesses both organically and through opportunistic acquisitions makes him the perfect fit as chairman of TLT,” said Hammes.

A Philadelphia native and Central High School graduate, Marino possesses a bachelor’s degree from Temple University and an MBA from Saint Joseph’s.

“I share Faith’s vision to create a regional title company in the Mid-Atlantic and along the East Coast,” he said. “Similar to the banking industry, where consolidation has been rampant the last 40 years, I see the same opportunity in the title industry.”
