Villanova Man Back in Court Seeking $30.2M from Former Employer
Dr. Raza Bokhari, a Villanova resident, is back in court seeking $30.2M from former employer, FSD Pharma, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
He had been the Canadian biopharmaceutical company’s chief executive officer and executive chairman. Now he has charged the company with breach of employment contract and tortious and intentional interference with economic relations.
These are new complaints submitted after an earlier arbitration ruling sided with the company.
Bokhari became CEO in June 2019 after serving as an advisor to and then interim CEO of the company. He was dismissed in 2021 after a proxy fight.
He has accused the FSD’s founders, Anthony Durkacz and Zeeshan Saeed, of negligence and misrepresentation.
According to Saeed, these new claims are without merit. He said, “These most likely are maneuver tactics by Dr. Bokhari to mislead the public away from facts and delay the payments that have been awarded to FSD Pharma.
FSD Pharma has said that Bokhari has not paid any of the arbitration award, which is with interest accruing, at about $3 million. Bokhari already has an existing application before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, seeking to set aside that award.
