The Philadelphia Country Club in Gladwyne joins Merion Golf Club in Ardmore as co-hosts of the 2026 U.S. Amateur Championship, writes Ryan Sharrow for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The Philadelphia Country Club will co-host the stroke-play portion of the event, while Merion Golf Club will co-host stroke play and host all match-play rounds.

Merion Golf Club was announced as the co-host of the championship by the United States Golf Association in 2019. This will be the course’s record seventh time hosting the annual event.

The U.S. Amateur Championship will take place from August 12 to August 16, 2026. The 126th edition of the championship will have a starting field of 312 competitors. They will play 18 holes of stroke play in the two days before the event, after which only the lowest 64 scores will remain.

The official event will start on August 12 with six rounds of match play. The championship will conclude with a 36-hole championship round on August 16.

This will be the sixth time that the USGA has visited the Gladwyne club.
