Medical Optometry America has acquired the Paoli practice of Dr. Marie Homa-Palladino. The practice called Personal Eyes will become a part of Medical Optometry America’s Eye Health Center in Newtown Square, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Medical Optometry America, which is based in Horsham, focuses on medical, non-surgical eye care. Homa-Palladino’s specialty is treating myopia or nearsightedness.

Dr. Christopher Kuc, medical director of MOA-Newtown Square said that Homa-Palladino will help launch the MOA Myopia Management Center of Excellence.

Myopia not only affects a person’s vision, but it can also increase a person’s risk of developing glaucoma, cataracts or macular degeneration.

“Leveraging her expertise and track record of success in myopia management allows us to expand our offerings in the specialty,” said Kuc.
