The abandoned 110-room mansion, whose presence haunts and entices Elkins Park was the star of a recent fashion photoshoot. The Australian luxury brand debuted its 2024 ready-to-wear resort collection in the shoot on June 5 at Lynnewood Hall.

ZIMMERMAN, the luxury brand, shared the photos taken inside the Gilded Age mansion on its Instagram. Members of the Lynnewood Hall Preservation Foundation were present during the shoot, but not involved, writes Jenn Ladd for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Aside from trespassing urban explorers to film walkthroughs for their YouTube channels, not many people have entered the grounds of the 123-year-old mansion. That was until the Lynnewood Hall Preservation Foundation was formed in 2019 to get legal access to the grounds and be able to address any issues regarding the estate.

They were officially designated as a nonprofit last summer. The foundation was able to prevent further decay through replacing windows and adding bracing.

“Lynnewood Hall is not just a Philadelphia icon of architecture, but it really is a United States icon of architecture,” said Edward Thome, the foundation’s Executive Director.

“We just so look forward to the day when we’re able to open it up to the public again, just as the Wideners did so many years ago.”
