Telford-based Godshall’s is preparing to smoke up a delicious world record. On June 21st, the nation’s largest producer of whole muscle turkey bacon will be attempting to make the longest slice, writes Paula Wolf for Central Penn Business Journal.

Godshall’s will be sizzling the piece in a 25-foot-long oven in North Lebanon, Pennsylvania.

The goal is to create a slice that is 16.6 feet long to break the world record, it will take six hours to cook. The piece needs to be measured in order to be certified as a Guinness World Record. After its finished cooking, the giant piece of bacon will be served during a luncheon in the form of BLT.

The bacon cooking will take place at a plant that Godshall’s is currently expanding in a $74 million project. Godshall’s is based out of Montgomery County and has been in operation since 1945.
