Shoppers World, a discount retailer in New York, has purchased Forman Mills and plans to keep all 43 of the chain’s locations open, including the store in Wyncote, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Shoppers World acquired Pennsauken-based Forman Mills from Goode Partners LLC, a New York private equity firm that purchased Forman Mills in 2016.

The announcement came a day after the Business Journal reported that Forman Mills was searching for a buyer.

The retailer had warned in a letter filed with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry that it expected to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and begin closing stores if it could not finalize a sale.

Forman Mills was founded in 1985 by Richard Forman. It sells off-price home goods, apparel, and footwear and has seven locations in Pennsylvania.
