Bryn Mawr native Aleeza Ben Shalom is helping Jewish singles find their soulmates in a new Netflix show, Jewish Matchmaking, writes Cecilia Levine for the Daily Voice.

The show, which is produced by the same team that worked on Indian Matchmaking, debuted on the streaming platform on May 3.

Ben Shalom is a dating coach who works to pair Jewish singles from all over the country and Israel with their best match. Singles of all ages are participating.

The show follows the participants as they date and, if they are lucky, end up under the chuppah.

Ben Shalom has been making matches for years. She worked at JMatchmaking.com until her husband convinced her to build her own business, Marriage Minded Mentor.

And while many of her clients may be picky, she believes every single person is particular.

“Everybody has preferences,” she said. “To me, it’s just a piece of data and information. I’m not shocked by it. I think there’s some misperception that people aren’t entitled to their preferences, which makes no sense at all.”
