Haverford School and University of North Carolina football star Asim Richards got selected by the Dallas Cowboys in Saturday’s NFL Draft, writes Devin Jackson for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Richards, who first played tight end in high school before switching to offensive line and the position of a tackle, was selected 169th overall in the fifth round.

As a North Carolina senior, Richards allowed only three sacks in 1,049 snaps. This earned him third-team All-ACC honors. His stellar final season, where he managed to fully showcase his ability to mirror pass rushers, got him an invitation to the Senior Bowl, where he practiced both as a tackle and guard.

With his new team, the six-foot-four, 309-pound player could be a candidate to be a swing tackle or slide in the interior.

“I can easily play another position and get comfortable,” said Richards before the draft. “So, I’m really not worried about where I’m going to play in the NFL. Just showing the teams that I can play wherever.”
