The Villanova Wildcats have benefited greatly from a recent transfer. TJ Bamba, the 6-foot-5 guard from Washington State University (WSU), has migrated to the east coast to play here. David Cobb covered the move and its implications for CBS Sports.

Bamba earned honorable mention All Pac-12 honors for the 2022–2023 season after averaging 15.8 points at WSU, while shooting 37.2 percent from three-point range.

His arrival comes as Caleb Daniels and Brandon Slater — two Villanova starters last year — are out of eligibility.

The Wildcats are also losing freshman Cam Whitmore to the NBA Draft.

But if veterans Justin Moore and Eric Dixon return, the addition of Bamba would give coach Kyle Neptune three seasoned and productive players to build around for the 2023–2024 season.

Well over 1,000 Division I players have entered the portal, and there are still weeks of player movement ahead before 2023–2024 rosters are settled.

More on TJ Bamba is at CBS Sports.
