Champagne on a Wednesday, an unlikely named North Wales-based jewelry brand, had its name even before the business became a business. Shreeya Patel reported the cart-before-the horse timeline in The Knight Crier.

The brand name resulted because the company principals thought it sounded upbeat, positive, and somewhat elegant.

“We both wanted to do something uplifting and had a feel-good vibe. We both were at a point in our lives where we weren’t sure what the next chapter of our lives looked like,” said co-founder Alexis Drolet.

Drolet and Jen Kowalick became friends after their kids went to preschool together. They were just two of the very few stay-at-home moms who had kids in the program.

They wanted to create a brand that would empower women who going through similar parenting transitions.

The two friends did not know how to make jewelry at first but started to learn through classes at a Michaels craft store and on YouTube.

Their products are handmade and use genuine gemstones. Kowalick and Drolet started out small, selling at parties at Jen’s house for the first couple of years.

Today, the brand has grown to be able to release two main collections a year, along with mini collections every month. Champagne on Wednesday also has an online shop and has products on sale at wholesale boutiques.

Drolet says that the jewelry is meant to be inspirational to stick out amongst the other brands. Each piece comes with its own artwork.
