Abandoned Pit Bull ‘Lucky,’ Found on Elkins Park Rail Tracks, Is Adopted
Lucky, the pit-bull mix abandoned on a set of SEPTA train tracks in Elkins Park, now has a forever home, reported Kaleah Mcilwain at NBC10 Philadelphia.
The injured dog will now be residing with Sidara Son, one of his original rescuers, who works with Philly Rescue Angels.
He’ll not only benefit from the focused care of an experienced dog-rescue advocate, he’ll be residing as a member of a pack, with canine companions in the same home.
The update on Lucky came via a Philly Rescue Angels Facebook post.
“We had some understandable behavioral issues we needed to address with Lucky, as it is a life-changing transition for him to go through.
“This was a long process, but we know Lucky … is where he belongs.”
Despite injuries that necessitated his use of a cart to compensate for his immobile back legs, Lucky is continuing therapy. He can now stand somewhat on his own. And his tail is beginning to wag ever so slightly.
With good reason.
More on the adoption of pit-bill-mix Lucky is at NBC 10 Philadelphia.
